BOLTS OF WISDOM – 4TH JANUARY 2025

“Building and defending the family of God everyday.”

Psalm 1:1-3 (AMPC) ¹ Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.² But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.³ And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].

The above verses make four things, listed below, very clear:-

(i)             You must not prioritise and enjoy the counsel of the ungodly as this will lead you to follow their evil advice, plans and purposes.

(ii)            You must not enjoy spending time in environments where purveyors of sin practise their craft, unless, of course you have been send by the Holy Spirit to evangelise in such places. If you are married and any place or event is not conducive for you to attend in the company of your spouse then you must not go there at all. Boys’ nights out are for bachelors and not suitable for married men! Girls’ nights out are for single ladies and not suitable for married women! Period.

(iii)          You must not spend time with people that are scornful and mock God.

(iv)          You must delight and habitually meditate on the law of the Lord (the Word of God) at scheduled times both in the day-time and night-time too plus do what the Word of God tells you to do and you shall prosper regardless of the prevailing life circumstances in the environment that God has given you an assignment(s).

2025 is our year of completeness. You will accomplish great works and be fulfilled by the power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name, amen. Make up your mind to keep the right company, friends and invest in the right partnerships. Keeping the wrong company will make you remain stagnant, under-achieve, become a failure in life or even experience pre-mature death. The Message Bible paraphrases Psalm 1:1-3 as follows “How well God must like you—    you don’t walk in the ruts of those blind-as-bats,    you don’t stand with the good-for-nothings,  you don’t take your seat among the know-it-alls. ^2-3 Instead you thrill to God’s Word,  you chew on Scripture day and night. You’re a tree replanted in Eden, bearing fresh fruit every month, Never dropping a leaf,  always in blossom.
